About this site
We live in a world of sound. Yet somehow, since nearly the beginning of time, organizations have relied almost exclusively on the sense of sight to communicate, to persuade and to influence.
I think that’s both fascinating and unfortunate, given sound’s proven ability to engineer perceptions. So I’m naturally curious:
- how can brands use sound to create an emotional connection with people?
- how can they promote themselves more effectively with sound?
- how can they improve products, services and experiences with sound?
And perhaps the biggest question of all: what role can sound play in making this a better world? If we can drive leaders from power by blaring AC/DC outside their homes for hours on end; if certain religions can (and probably will again) forbid their followers from listening to or performing music because it’s simply too powerful a tool to be experienced by the people; and if the “iPod click” is today’s cultural equivalent of yesterday’s dial-tone…then what’s possible in a future in which sound is used with foresight and intention?
That’s why I’m devoting attention to Intentional. And it’s what I’m exploring here at this site. Join me. — noel at intentionalaudio dot com.
