Friday Muxtape madness

muxtape

The world’s atwitter over Muxtape. My friends at Mule and Substance suggest it’s the next sliced bread, but I’m still kicking the tires waiting to be really wowed. (Update: wow factor increases with use.) Nonetheless, your humble DJ Franux has given it hist best global-blues-funkytown mix — check it out or give it a spin and make your own. Happy Friday.

I don’t know if I’d say we’re all “atwitter” (though we did Twitter about it)… it was just the new hotness for the day. Which reminds me that we need to update our mix. Or mux. Or whatever.

And I see they’ve added a “buy at Amazon” link to each mp3… wonder if Muxtape wasn’t some secret Amazon-created site to sell music…

Going to now rock out to some Franux DJ magic.

Point taken — Twitter, atwitter, mixtape, muxtape. There’s definitely a lot of buzz about Muxtape, and one of the things I’ve come to appreciate about it is that it’s essentially a simple business card for those who care to use it as such; many people identify so strongly with music, and feel it defines them in a way that nothing else quite can…I can easily see this becoming a given field at myspace or linked in.

    Name, URL and Muxtape handle.

Oh wait, there’s the RIAA standing in the way of that. Right. Perhaps that’s what Amazon’s there for.

And now pardon me while I’m head over and rock out to some “findsubstance” muxtape…

Once you’re done with the findsubstance muxtape, you can check out the hodgepodge collection of mashups and remixes I pulled together for the Jay-Z song “99 Problems.”

An audio guy like you might enjoy the technical skill put into some of those.
